Shirley L. (Kiester) Hartman

Shirley L. Hartman, age 89, of Arthur, left this life on Saturday, October 29th, 2022 at the El Dorado Manor in Trenton, NE.  
 
Shirley was born on October 14th, 1933 at Shickley, Nebraska to Floyd and Velma (Boileau) Kiester. She moved to Arthur County Nebraska as a young girl and received her education at the Arthur County Schools, graduating in 1951.
Soon after graduation, Shirley married her high school sweetheart Darwin Hartman on September 12, 1951 in Ogallala. 

Shirley was a member of the Wesleyan Church in Arthur where she actively participated as a Sunday School teacher and the church organist. 
She was an avid gardener and quilter. She was also known for her good cooking by friends and family. Shirley held many jobs in her lifetime, but her pride and joy was being a wife and mother.

Shirley was preceded in death by her husband Darwin; son Rodney, her parents; brothers Jack Kiester, Jerry Kiester, Laverne Stoddard, Lavelle Stoddard, & Earle Stoddard; and sister Ethel Reichenberg; Sisters-in-laws Karen Stoddard & Faye Stoddard, Brother-in-law Ralph Reichenberg.

Survivors include her daughter Lisa (Tim) Lawson; Grandchildren Ashley (Kory) Gerken, Austin (Penny) Lawson, Adam (Shayne) Lawson, Alex Lawson & special friend Kait Heinemann, and Allyson Lawson; Great Grandchildren Kollin & Kyler Lewis, Hailey, Aaron, Brent, Emma and Parker Lawson and Bennett Lawson ; Sisters-in-law Bonita Kiester and Shirley Kiester; Sister Emily Hough; and a host of nieces, nephews, other family members, and friends. 

Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m.to 5:00 p.m at the Arthur Baptist Church on Tuesday, November 1st, 2022.

Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, November 2nd, 2022 at the Arthur Baptist Church at 2:00 p.m.

Rev. Blake Wilkes officiating. 

Memorials have been established in Shirley's memory for later designation.
