Shirley Marie Brott

Shirley M. Brott, 96, formerly of Madrid, NE passed away peacefully Wednesday, April 12th, 2023 at Linden Court Nursing Home in  North Platte, NE.

Shirley was born January 13th, 1927 in Madrid, NE to Albert and Laura (Hicks) Price. She was the youngest of five children. Shirley attended Madrid High School, however, she graduated from Raytown, MO.

Shirley was married to Henry (Hank) Brott, Jr. on September 7th, 1947.  They were married for 54 years.  They resided on a farm north of Madrid, NE, moving then to Ogallala, NE and then to Linden Court in North Platte, NE.  Shirley spent her time raising her 7 children, dancing with Hank, sewing, painting, clay crafts, baking and crocheting.  

Children include Harlan and Cheri Brott and their five children; LaVon and Jerry Watson and their two children; Joyce and Rocky Osborne and their two children; Larry and Connie Brott and their three children; Karma and Jim (deceased) Trusty and their four children; Karen and Bill Nalley and their one child; and Wendell and Kathy Brott and their one child.  In addition, Shirley has 18 grandchildren, 31 great grandchildren and 7 great - great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, April 18th, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. mountain standard time at St. John's Lutheran Church (466 Road East G S, Ogallala, NE) with Reverend Albert Bader officiating.

Visitation will be Tuesday, April 18th, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. until time of the funeral service.

Interment will follow services at St. John's Lutheran Cemetery in Ogallala.

Memorials are suggested to St. John's Lutheran Church.
