Nancy Joyce Crow

Nancy J. (Smith) Crow, age 76, of Lemoyne, NE, passed away, Saturday, May 30, 2020, at her home in Lemoyne with her husband at her side. 

She was born to late Robert LeRoy and Joyce Faye (Gyles) Smith on March 2, 1944 in Alexandria, South Dakota. She attended Notre Dame Academy and later earned her Nursing Degree.

She married William Thornton Crow on September  28, 1997, moving to Lemoyne 14 years ago from Colorado Springs, where they met. 

Nancy (Granny) was active in her High School Marching Band, both with twirling the baton and musical instruments, she played the saxophone, clarinet, flute and the piano. She loved to sing and had a beautiful voice singing to her children and grandchildren. She loved to write stories and poems. Nancy spent her life working as a Nurse in hospitals, assisted living care centers and in-home patient care with the love and passion in taking care of her patients. Living in Colorado, she spent her time playing bingo, baking, gardening and sewing. Moving to Lemoyne, she spent her time at the Senior Center with her friends and making the monthly birthday cakes for the center. She loved spending time at the recreation center swimming and at her church, Martin Bay Community Church. She had a passion for animals, having cats, dogs, fish and birds her entire life, even rescuing in the hundreds of cats that were abandoned.

Nancy was full of life, a loving wife, mother, and grandmother who will be missed dearly. God has taken his angel home to rest at His side, but her memories will live on with her family. 

She is preceded in death by her son Danny Michael; 1 sister, Connie; and her grandchildren, Ashley and Scott.

Nancy is survived by her loving husband, William Crow; daughters; Lesa Kay (Scott), all of Lemoyne; Lori Ann (Troy), of Aurora, CO; Julie Marie ( Daniel), of Colorado Springs; 7 grandchildren, Leilani, Amber (Derick), Rhonda (Joel), Brian, Nicole (Cody), Justin (Danielle) and Alyssa; 11 great-grandchildren, Moriah, Scottie, Xavier, Dominique, Majestic, A.J., Cadence, Justin, Ezra, Lucas and Kaylee; 1 sister, Kathy; 1 brother, Robert (June), brother-in-law, Larry; and many nieces and nephews. 

The family chose cremation. A Celebration of Nancy's life will be held at a later date.

A memorial has been established in her name.
