Michael Scott Foth

Michael “Mike” Scott Foth of Paxton, Neb., died on Tuesday, Dec. 3, 2019, at the age of 56. 

His sense of humor and the way he could tell a story will never be forgot­ten by those who knew and loved him.

Born March 11, 1963 in Minneapolis, Mike was adopted by Gene and Lil Foth of Windom at 8 weeks old. He was welcomed home by his big sister, Lori. A little sister, Sheri, would join them later. 

He grew up in a Chris­tian home and received Christ as his Savior and upon confession of his faith he was baptized. Mike was a friend who al­ways made those around him laugh. 

Youth Group and Camp Shamineau were both a big part of his life and the source of many last­ing friendships. It was at camp that he discovered his love for horses. 

He enjoyed playing guitar, singing, playing ball with the neighbor­hood friends, picking on his sisters and generally clowning around. 

He graduated from Windom Area High School in 1982 and went to Northwestern College in Roseville. While attending he was actively involved in the drama department and also coached girls high school basketball at a Christian Academy.

After college he spent many years teaching horsemanship at Chris­tian camps, including Lone Tree Bible Ranch in Capitan, N.M. He then took a job at Fuch’s Ranch and Cattle Company in Santa Rosa, N.M. He loved the open spaces and being a cowboy. Many of his nieces and nephews enjoyed working on the ranch with him during the summers that fol­lowed. 

He married Kim Cra­vens on Oct. 9, 1999, and they lived on the ranch. 

He also served as a lay pastor at the Church on the Hill in Fort Sumner, N.M. In addition to the congregation, he actively served in prison ministry. 

He was later divorced and then married Tami Williams on May 24, 2014. He was excited to be a stepfather to Dorian.

He enjoyed hunting and fishing, camping, coach­ing and being in God’s creation with his family. 

He was a son, brother, uncle, husband, stepfather, friend, cowboy, horse trainer and story teller.

The last few years of life Mike struggled with a deep depression. He lost that battle and was welcomed home into the arms of Jesus on Decem­ber 3.

He will be dearly missed by his wife, Tami Foth, and stepson, Dorian Hotchkiss; his parents, Gene and Lil Foth of Worthington; his sisters, Lori (Joel) Knudsen of Wichita, Kan.; Sheri (Phill) Hall of Deer River; nieces and nephews: Christian (Sandy) Knud­sen, Jeff (Annie) Knud­sen and family, Heidi Dieball, Amanda Weve, Ryan (Lori) Knudsen, Caitlin (Patrick) Good­win, and Cody Michael (Anna) Hall; great niece, Kyla Dieball, and great nephew, Chris Repass; and aunt, Nettie Eytzen, along with many wonder­ful cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by his paternal and maternal grandparents, several aunts and uncles, and his cousin Gordon Eytzen.

Memorial Services will be Saturday, December 14, 2019 at the Living Waters Covenant Church in Worthington, MN, with Rev. John Stewart officiating. 

Family will greet friends from 1:00 p.m.-2:00 p.m., Saturday at the Church prior to the service. (1645 S. Shore Dr, Worthington). 

The family chose cremation with private family interment of cremains to be held at a later date.
