Mabel Emma (Boos) Meyer

Mabel Emma Meyer, 97, of Littleton, CO, formerly of Paxton and Ogallala, passed away on February 10, 2022 at the Libby Bortz Assisted Living Center in Littleton.

She was born on July 18, 1924 to Phillip and Lillian (Kaeser) Boos in Sheboygan, WI. She attended school and graduated from high school in Sheboygan. On August 7, 1943 she married Darrold John Meyer at Sheboygan where they made their home. To this union four daughters were born; Catherine, Janet, Mary and Debbra. Mabel and Darrold lived in Sheboygan until 1953, when they moved to Denver, Colorado. The couple lived in Denver until 1973, when they moved to Paxton, NE. In 2006, she moved to Ogallala and then in 2010 back to Colorado to be near family.

Mabel was a homemaker, and enjoyed cooking, canning, baking and entering baking competition, reading and playing bingo. She loved being with her children and grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Darrold J.Meyer in 2006 ; a brother, Harvey Boos; a sister, Helen Meyer; and a grand-daughter, Tammy Brown.

Mabel is survived by her four daughters, Catherine (Gordon) Larson of Columbus, IN, Janet Lee (Richard) Huffman of Lakewood, CO, Mary (John) Byers of Fort Collins, CO, Debbra (Mark) Fry of Denver, CO; 14 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren.

Graveside service will be held on Wednesday, February 16, 2022, 12:00 pm at the Paxton Cemetery, Paxton, Nebraska, with Rick Van Rotz, officiating at the closed casket service.

Interment will take place in the Paxton Cemetery. Services will be recorded and posted after the service.
