Lois Lage Obituary

Lois Clara Lage, 90, of Arthur, Nebraska died Monday, January 9th, 2023 at Great Plains Health in North Platte, NE.

Lois was born June 28th, 1932 in Omaha, NE. She was the eldest of seven children born to Joe and Clara (Logemann) Plambeck. Lois was raised on the family farm, four miles west of Millard, NE.

She attended District #45 Willow Dale Grade School and Millard High School, graduating in May 1949. She then worked a short time in the business office at Boys Town in Omaha, and then was employed at the Agricultural Stabilization office in Elkhorn, NE.

Lois met Donald Lage of Fort Calhoun, NE in 1948. They were married December 30th, 1950 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Millard, NE. The couple resided in San Diego, CA while Don served in the navy. They returned to Nebraska in 1954 to the farm at Ft. Calhoun and Valley, NE. In 1970, they relocated to the Nebraska Sand Hills, where she was employed as a cook for several ranches.

In 1991, Don and Lois retired and moved to Arthur, NE, residing in the same home for 25 years. Lois also worked in the Hyannis School Lunch program and the Country Inn in Arthur. Upon retirement, they enjoyed traveling to the southern states and attended country music and poetry events in the Dakotas, Wyoming, Colorado, and Nebraska.

She attended the Arthur Baptist Church and the Martin Bay Community Church. Lois was a member of several organizations, including the Glenrose Extension Club, Arthur Baptist Ministries, and Arthur Legion #207. She volunteered in the Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, and the Arthur Christian Youth Group. She served on the school boards of District #13 Washington County and District #12 Arthur County grade schools. She anticipated reading the North Platte Telegraph, Keith County News, and the Arthur Enterprise to keep up on current events.

Her hobbies included embroidery and doing puzzles. Lois enjoyed collecting mugs, bells, and angels when she traveled. She loved Nebraska football and volleyball. She was a Denver Bronco fan and she also enjoyed watching baseball.

Preceding her in death was her husband Don, two sons James and Steven, her parents, three brothers Loren, George,and Dennis Plambeck, two sisters-in-law Karen and Judy Plambeck, and brother-in-law Bill Mann.

Lois is survived by her two sons Roger (Donna) Lage of LaBroquerie, Canada and Ron (Kristy) Lage of Arthur, NE; five daughters Donelle (Glenn) Stewart of Almena, KS, Jeanine (Don) Baker of Brewster, NE, Nancy (Del) Fulton of Doniphan, NE, Joanne Cullinan of North Platte, NE, and Margie (Pat) Lyons of Pawhuska, OK; fourteen grandchildren, nineteen great-grandchildren; one brother Dale Plambeck of Omaha, NE; two sisters Karen (Norman) Mortensen of Crab Orchard, NE and Carita (Bill) Mann of Papillion, NE; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Visitation will be Monday, January 16th, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. until services.

Funeral Services will be Monday, January, 16th, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. at the Draucker Funeral Home Chapel in Ogallala, NE with Reverend Blake Wilkes of the Arthur Baptist Church officiating.

Interment will be the Arthur Cemetery.
