Ina Rae Hebbert, age 78, of Ashby, passed away, Sunday, January 24, 2021 at the Gordon Countryside Care in Gordon, Nebraska after suffering many years with dementia.
Ina Rae was born on September 29, 1942 to Leonard and Vonis (Schroeder) Reinbold in a farm house near Ute, IA. Ina Rae was baptized November 29, 1942 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Charter Oak, IA.
In 1947, her family moved to Mapleton, IA where she attended school, graduating from Mapleton High School in 1960. After high school, Ina Rae moved to Omaha, NE where she attended a Business College, graduating with a secretarial degree. Ina Rae worked as a secretary in Omaha for several years where she met the love of her life Harry D. Hebbert.
Harry and Ina Rae were united in marriage May 14, 1966 at St Matthew’s Lutheran Church in Mapleton, IA. After the wedding, the coupled moved to the Hebbert family ranch north of Ashby, Nebraska. To this union were born two sons, Kurt and Kevin. Ina Rae adapted well to the title of ranch wife. She took pride in everything she did and opened her home to anyone who stopped by. If you walked into her home as a stranger, you walked out as a friend.
Ina Rae enjoyed reading, crafting, bowling, watching basketball, gardening, and spoiling her 3 grandsons. She loved spending time with them and having them pop in to her house for a moment or the whole day. She tamed every cat in the neighborhood and even had one that rode with her on the ATV to trap gophers.
Ina Rae was preceded in death by her parents, Leonard and Vonis Reinbold, In laws, Merrill and Lovilla Hebbert, husband, Harry Hebbert, and a sister in law, Violet Hebbert. She is survived by her sons, Kurt (Karel) Hebbert, and Kevin Hebbert both residing on the family ranch.
