Dorothy "Dot" Maxine Rose

Dorothy "Dot" Maxine  Rose. 89, of Arthur, NE passed away Friday, February 24th, 2023 at Ogallala Community Hospital.

Dorothy was born June 24th, 1933 to Ernest and Elsie (Duskin) Weinel in Alliance, NE.

Dorothy attended Alliance Public  Schools  and worked for a bakery  and as a cooks helper.

She married Donald Rose at St. John's Lutheran Church in Alliance on May 8th, 1955.   They made their home 10 miles north of Lakeside, NE on the Joy Camp of the Meyers Land and Cattle Company.

In 1963, they moved to Arthur, NE, where she worked on the Sillassen Ranch as the ranch cook.  They moved into Arthur in 1979 where Dorothy worked as a waitress and  for the Village of Arthur.

Dorothy is preceded in death by; her husband Don, and her parents Ernest and Elsie.

Dorothy is survived by; her sons Dennis (Jolene) Rose of Arthur and Steve (Cindy) Rose of Alliance, Twin brother Donald Weinel of  Shreveport, Louisiana.  Sisters Florence Sydow of Wheatland, Wy and Bonnie Duncan of Scottsbluff, NE.

5 Grandchildren and 8 Great Grandchildren

No Visitation is scheduled.

Funeral services will be  Tuesday, February 28, 2023 at 2:00 pm from the Arthur Baptist Church with the Rev.Blake Wilkes officiating

Interment will be at the Arthur Cemetery.
