Charlotte E. (Liggett) Peterson

Charlotte Elizabeth (Liggett) Peterson, age 79, died Thursday, February 2nd, 2023 at Ogallala Community Hospital in Ogallala, NE.

Charlotte was born on October 5th, 1943 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to Robert and Edith (Long) Liggett. Charlotte went to school at Stonewall Jackson High School in Charleston, WV and graduated in 1961.She later married Samuel Evans and to this union one child was born, Janice. Shortly after, they were divorced. Charlotte then married Dennis Peterson on October 25th, 1966. They had two boys, BJ and JD. In 1989, they divorced.

Charlotte participated in many different activities through the years. She was a part of Buffalo Bill's Wild West Show, that the Peterson family also participated in. She also performed in the Great Adventure Show and the Bentley Brother's Circus. After being on the road performing, Charlotte became a beautician before becoming a florist. She opened her own business called Country Western Flowers. She was a life long member of the Moose Lodge 1624 of Ogallala. After retiring, she enjoyed going to the lake, especially fishing.

Charlotte is preceded in death by her parents, great granddaughter Morgan Dehning, and various aunts and uncles.

She is survived by; her daughter Janice Johnson of Ogallala; sons BJ Peterson and JD (Dawn) Peterson, both of Ogallala; her cousin Jacqueline Wood of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; grandchildren Erica Johnson of McCook, NE, Jeremy Johnson of Fort Collins, CO, Tineale (Jacob) Sandine of Piedmont, SD, Anthony Peterson, Cayden Peterson, and Cayla Peterson all of Ogallala; great grandchildren Ashlyn Dehning, Brittney Dehning, Cordell Dehning, and Emersyn Sandine.

Memorial Services will be Friday, February 10th, 2023 at 3:00 p.m. at the Draucker Funeral Home Chapel in Ogallala, NE with Ron Jay officiating.

A celebration of life to follow at The Underpass in Ogallala at 4:00 p.m.

Private family interment will be held at a later date.

Memorials have been established in Charlotte's memory.
