Arnold L. Sexson

 Arnold L. Sexson age 91 of Ogallala died Tuesday October 4th, 2022 at Wel-Life in Ogallala. Arnold was the son of Pearl D. Sexson and Nellie (Borland) Sexson. He was born February 8, 1931 in McCook. Arnold grew up on a farm at Wauneta, and he graduated from Wauneta High School. While in school he exceled at football and track. He won several medals and set a State Record in the high hurdles.Upon graduation he was drafted into the Army during the Korean Conflict. He spent his tour as a Corporal in Panama.

On January 22, 1954 Arnold married the love of his life Dorothy Nutt in Gering. 
Arnold owned and operated Arnolds Upholstery for 60 years. He loved his work, it was not only his job, but his hobby. Arnold and Dorothy loved to Polka Dance. Arnold loved to camp when the children were young. He was an avid hunter, he especially loved Elk hunting. He also would hunt deer and pheasant. 
Arnold was a member of the VFW, Elks and the United Methodist Church of Ogallala.

He was preceded in death by his wife Dorothy in 2018, his parents, 3 brothers, Lawrence Sexson, Ray Sexson and Vernon Sexson, 2 sisters; Virginia Fay and Darline Wicke; 2 infant grandsons, Patrick Laird and Kent Lomme.

Arnold is survived by his 2 sons; Kelly (Corine) Sexson, Larry (Beverly) Laird of Ogallala , 2 daughters; Becky (Rick) Dawson, of Ogallala, Deanna Lomme, of  Lutz Florida; eight grandchildren, Michele Lomme and Richard Lomme both of Lutz Florida, John Laird, Jerome (Heather) Sexson, Jeff Sexson, Katy (Kelvin) Robertson and Casey (Erin Skinner special friend) Dawson all of Ogallala; Gina Magee of Kearney Missouri; 7 great grandchildren, Elizabeth Lomme of Lutz Florida, Derek Sexson, David Sexson, Parker Robertson and Peyton Robertson all of Ogallala, Barret Magee of Kearney Missouri, and Brandon Case of Colorado Springs.

Visitation will be Sunday, October 9, 2022 from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Draucker Funeral Home.

Services will be Monday, October 10th, 2022 at 10:00 AM at the United Methodist Church in Ogallala with Rev. Curt Magelky officiating.

Interment will be at the Ogallala Cemetery.

A Memorial has been established to the United Methodist Church of Ogallala.
