Arlene M Dahlgrin Age 86 of Ogallala, Died Tuesday April 27th 2021 at Sanford Medical Center in Bismarck, North Dakota.
Arlene Marie (Cotant) Dahlgrin was born May 2nd, 1934 in Rolf Nebraska. She was the daughter of Leo and Opal (Phillips) Cotant. She received her education in Cody, Nebraska and graduated from Cody High School in Cody in 1952. She went on to earn her teaching degree at Chadron State College and continued training at Kearney State College.
She was united in marriage to Billy G. Dahlgrin on December 26, 1954 in Cody Nebraska. She taught in rural schools and after moving to Ogallala, she taught 2nd grade at Big Springs Public School. When she retired from teaching, she worked at Kwik Stop for a while then she waited tables at Ogallala Livestock Café until Covid - 19 shut it down.
Her Hobbies included her flowers and rose bushes in her yard. She loved spending time with family and grandkids and great grand kids. She attended United Methodist Church and the Ladies Circle.
She was preceded in death by her son Billy W. Dahlgrin, her husband Billy G. Dahlgrin, her brothers Larry Jo Cotant and Lance Jay Cotant.
Survivors include her daughter Jaleen (Wendell) Thompson of Karlsruhe, ND. Kimberly Dahlgrin of Velva, ND. One brother Leslie Cotant of Gordon, NE. one sister Hellen Ballard (recently deceased on 5/16/2021) of Ogallala, NE. Grandkids: Jodi (Paul) Isom of Lincoln, NE. Casey (Megan) Dahlgrin of Gering, NE. Nathan (Jordon) Canfield of Velva, ND. Douglas (Aleah) Thompson of Minot, ND. Kenny (Abagayl) Thompson of Sawyer, ND. Also 12 great grandkids and one due in October 2021
The family has chosen cremation.
Memorial Service will be June 4th, 2021. at 10:00 AM from the United Methodist Church in Ogallala with Rev Chuck Rager Officiating.
Interment of cremains will be in the Alliance Veterans Cemetery along side her husband.
A Memorial has been established in her memory through the Methodist Church Ogallala, NE
Draucker Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements.
