Zayen Seven Shireman, age 7 of Ogallala, passed away Thursday, August 6, 2026. He was born on January 28, 2019, at Ogallala Community Hospital to Kimberly Crowe and Jeremiah “Frog” Shireman.
There is no denying that Zayen filled every room with laughter and light. Strangers didn’t stay strangers long. He made sure of it. He was always the first to say hello, the last to say goodbye, and he sure had a way with the ladies. Never too shy to put on the charm.
Zayen’s love knew no bounds. He always had his Hot Wheels in each hand and could tell you everything there was to know about the Titanic. He knew all the lyrics to his favorite songs. And he could sing his mom and dad’s favorite songs by heart. If there was a stray cat on the street, you wouldn’t go anywhere until Zayen was able to show the cat some love. He loved going to church every Sunday and wanted nothing more than to be a part of the service and leading prayers.
Zayen loved his parents deeply. He was homeschooled by his mom Kimberly. She took pride in his quick and curious mind. He was a very intelligent little boy. Wherever Kim was, Zayen was usually there too. As with dad, Jeremiah, Zayen and him were two peas in a pod. Frog and Tadpole went everywhere together, always driving around in dad’s clapped-out dodge, naming every vehicle that passed by.
He leaves behind a family that will miss him more than words can hold. An entire community that was blessed to know him. As hard as it is to lay him to rest, we take pride in knowing that heaven gained the sweetest little boy. We aren’t saying goodbye, little buddy. We will see you later in the spot you have saved for us.
Zayen is survived by his mom Kim Crowe, dad Jeremiah Shireman, sisters Zaydee Crowe and Jaylinn Pierce, brother Anthony Pierce, Grandfather Kenith Crowe, Grandmother Melody Sides; Great Grandmother Sonja Johnson, uncles Bryan (Michelle) Crowe and family, Kenny Crowe, Casey (Rabecca) Cockerill and family, Seth and Heather Cockerill and family, Aunt Jessie (Cello Vieyra) Shireman and family, and numerous cousins, and all his best friends he met along the way. He is preceded in death by his grandmother Lisa Immanico, great-grandfather Donald Sides, and Uncle Justin Cockerill.
A celebration of Zayen’s life will be held on Saturday, August 22, 2026, at 10 A.M. MST, at the Midwest Cooperative Corporation, located at 104 Washington Ave, Grant, NE. Attendees are invited to wear bright neon colors in honor of his joyful spirit.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to any Pinnacle Bank location, with the account being listed under Zayen Shireman.
