William "Buck" Caudy

William "Buck" Caudy, 73, longtime Paxton resident, died Monday, November 25, at his home. Buck was born July 13, 1940 in Ogallala, the son of Vernie and Violet (Harp) Caudy. He attended school in Arthur. He was employed by Missouri Valley Construction, and at OK Rubber Company doing tire installation. Buck then was a heavy equipment operator for thirty-six years with Keith County Roads Department. After retirement in 2005 he worked for several years in Arthur County. On July 27, 1958 Buck was united in marriage to Dora Behmerwohld. The couple resided in Ogallala where they raised their family. They later lived in the Keystone area. Buck was a member of the First Baptist Church and the IOOF Lodge in Ogallala. His hobbies included camping, going on trail rides and spending time with his family. Preceding him in death were his parents and a brother Wes Caudy. Survivors include his wife Dora Caudy of Paxton, one daughter Vickie (Randy) Leeper of Ogallala, two sons Norman (Virginia) Caudy of Hebron and Rodney Caudy and his special friend Rhonda Anderson, both of Grant. One sister Mildred Smith of Westminster, Colo. Also thirteen grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren. Cremation was chosen. The Memorial Service will be Saturday, Dec. 7, at 10 a.m. in the Ogallala First Baptist Church with Rev. Curtis Tschetter officiating. Inurnment of the cremains will be Saturday at 10:30 a.m. in the Ogallala Cemetery. A memorial has been established to the First Baptist Church.
