Shirley Finch, 89, of Paxton, died Friday, March 24, 2017, in her home. Shirley was born December 18, 1927, in Sutherland, Nebraska, the daughter of George and Pearl (Kirkpatrick) Tridle. After graduating from Paxton High School in 1945, Shirley attended Midland Nebraska Community College. She returned to Paxton and was employed with Goodalls in Ogallala for several years. In 1951 she moved to Vallejo, California and worked in the naval shipyards. Shirley was united in marriage to Robert Finch in 1952. The couple made its home in Vallejo until 1955 when they relocated to Paxton, Nebraska. They purchased a farm west of town and engaged in the farming business. Shirley continued to reside there and enjoyed ranching, raising horses, and gardening. Her hobbies included painting and family activities. Preceding her in death were her parents, and two brothers: Robert and Richard Tridle. Survivors include her children: William (Vins) Finch of Paxton, Georgia (Roger) Bauerkemper of Ogallala, and Kate (Daniel) Martinez of Thornton, Colorado; one brother Joe Tridle of Glendo, Wyoming; eight grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. Friends may sign the Register Book and pay respects on Monday, March 27, from I to 5 p.m. in Draucker Funeral Home. The funeral service will be Tuesday, March 28, at 10:30 a.m. in Draucker Funeral Home with Rev. Mark Baldwin of the Paxton United Methodist Church officiating. Online condolences may by signing the Guest Book. The funeral service will be live streamed for those unable to attend. Interment is in the Paxton Cemetery.
