Shelley Darlene Melies

Shelley D. Melies age 66 of Brule (Vans Lakeview) passed away peacefully Friday, May 22, 2026 at her home on Lake McConaughy with her husband Wade and Kola by her side.

Shelley was known for her Quiet strength, facing life’s challenges with unwavering courage and determination. Deeply devoted to her faith, she possessed a rare gift for forgiveness and always chose harmony in her life. Her profound love for her family and friends leaves an indelible mark on everyone who knew her.

She is survived by her husband Wade and Kola, her two sons Ken (Lisa) Melies and Mark (Jamie) Melies, her two brothers Tom Martinez and Mark (Bonnie) Towne, four cherished grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Carol (Lucas) Martinez and a sister Donna Schofield. To honor Shelley, memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society. Cremation has been chosen with no services scheduled at this time.
