Sharon "Sherry" Steele

Sharon "Sherry" Steele, 74, of Brule, Nebraska, died Sunday, November 24, 2013, in the Ogallala Community Hospital. Sherry was born January 10, 1939 in Mahnomen, Minnesota, the daughter of Daniel and Ora (Brisbois) Sullivan. She attended elementary school in Mahnomen and then attended high school in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin. On June 20, 1959 Sherry was united in marriage to Richard A. Steele. The couple resided in Ripon, Wisconsin for nearly forty years before moving to the Brule area three years ago. She was employed at the Ripon hospital as a CNA and then at the Speed Queen manufacturing plant in Ripon for thirty years, retiring in 1997. Sherrys hobbies included playing cards and bingo, cooking, baking, and bowling. Sherry especially enjoyed joke telling and spending time with friends and family. She was a member of the White Earth Minnesota Chippewa Tribe. She was a loving wife and mother, a devoted grandmother to her "boys." Sherry was a fun-loving and faithful friend to many. She had a special place in her heart for "her people" at Lakeview. Preceding her in death were her parents, a sister Rose Marie Sullivan, and three brothers Jim, John, and Kim. Survivors include her husband Richard Steele of Brule; her daughter Linda (John) Moore of Loveland, Colorado, and her son Rick Steele of Ogallala; and two grandsons John Moore and Kyle Moore, both of Loveland, Colorado. Two sisters: Jackie (Butch) Allen of Neshkoro, Wisconsin, and Laurie Sullivan of Redgranite, Wisconsin and One brother Daniel (Sandy) Sullivan of Shawano, Wisconsin and numerous nieces and nephews. The family chose cremation. The Memorial Service will be Wednesday, November 27, at 1 p.m. in Draucker Funeral Home. Rev. Bryan Ernest will officiate. A memorial has been established in her memory.
