Sharon Hughes Obituary Sharon Lee Hughes, 76, of Ogallala passed away Wednesday Aug 1, 2018 at the Swedish Medical Center in Englewood Colorado. Sharon was born on April 3, 1942 in Omaha, Arkansas, the daughter of Robert M. and Mary Maxine (Logan)Young. Sharon received her early education at Roscoe School District #15 through eight grade. She graduated from Ogallala High School with the class of 1960. After High School Sharon worked for TRW. On January 9, 1965 Sharon married Melvin E. Hughes in Brule. The couple lived in Moses Lake, WA and in Cheyenne, WY for the next four years while Melvin was serving in the Air Force. Sharon, Mel and their family returned to Brule in 1968 where Sharon worked various jobs and also for Mike Jensen at Flowers by Mike. In 1981 they purchased Virg's cafe in Brule and retiring in 2012. Sharon was a member of the St. John's Lutheran Church in Brule and LWML. She enjoyed her membership in the Happy Hour Garden Club. Her hobbies included gardening, sewing and flower arranging. Preceding her in death by parents and her Husband Melvin Hughes in 2008. Survivors include two sons; Todd(Kris) Hughes of Hope Hull, AL and Shane (Melissa) Hughes of North Platte, one sister Karrell Martin of Georgetown TX, one brother William 'Bill' Young of Malaga Washington , and 4 grandchildren Kara (Max) Pollmann of Culbertson, Cody(Kimberly) Hughes of Cheyenne WY, Colton and Jace Hughes of North Platte. Visitation will be Friday Aug 10, from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Draucker Funeral Home. Funeral Service will be Saturday Aug 11, 2018 at 10:00 am in St. Johns Lutheran Church in Brule. Rev. Jon Dickmander will officiate. Interment in the Brule Cemetery. Memorials have been established to the Brule Cemetery and St. Johns Lutheran Church. Condolences may be sent by signing the Guest Book. The service will be live streamed for those unable to attend. Draucker Funeral Home of Ogallala is entrusted with arrangements.
