Scott Wesley Lauer

Scott Wesley Lauer, 25, of Big Springs, Nebr., died Saturday, April 13, 2013, as a result of a motorcycle accident in North Carolina. Scott was born January 11, 1988 in Ogallala, the son of Stephen and Donna (Reichenberg) Lauer. Scott attended School District #14, west of Ogallala, and graduated from Ogallala High School in 2006. He then attended Wyoming Tech in Laramie, graduating in 2007. Scott began employment as a mechanic with Kinder Morgan at the compressor station, northwest of Big Springs. Scott was a member of Jehovah's Witnesses. His hobbies included biking, riding motorcycles, hiking and camping, disassembling things, photography, roping, and riding horses. He was especially known for giving big hugs. Preceding him in death was his grandfather Richard Hansen, and great-grandparents: Bill and Minnie Lauer, Lloyd and Florence Griffith, George and Iva Reichenberg, and Ethel Browning. Survivors include his father Steve Lauer of Brule; his mother Donna Reichenberg Clouse and her husband Randy of Ogallala; a sister Jessica Lauer of Omaha; step-sister Stephanie Mosel of North Platte; a brother Justin (Natalie) Henson of Leslie, Mich.; three step-brothers: Ryan (Holly) Vinyard and Nolan (Tamara) Clouse, all of North Platte; and Justin Clouse of Stapleton. Grandparents: Robert and Jeanette Lauer of Gothenburg and Lorna Hansen of North Platte. Aunts & Uncles: Dan and Theresa Lauer of Norton, Kan.; Garon and Sherri Stewart and Brian and Terri Commins, all of Ogallala; Steve and Angie Mueting of Aurora, Colo.; Monte and Susan Reichenberg of Paris, Ill.; Cliff and Ali Reichenberg of North Platte; and Wes and Carol Reichenberg of Broken Bow. Also Great-Aunts & Uncles, many cousins, and a host of friends. The family chose cremation. A Memorial Service will be Monday, April 22, at 10 a.m. in the Brule Activity Center with Rev. Monte Reichenberg officiating. Following is a second service at 1 p.m. in the Ogallala Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses with Tony Raffaeli officiating. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established in his name.
