Sandra "Sandy" Sue Dale

Sandra “Sandy” Sue Dale, age 82, of Ogallala, NE, died April 15, 2025, at Ogallala Community Hospital.

Sandra was born on April 22, 1942, in Ogallala, Nebraska, and was the daughter of Ernie and Gertrude (Miller) McVay. She was a proud graduate of Ogallala High School. After High School, she worked at the Ogallala Hospital and later ventured to Greeley, Colorado, where she embraced various opportunities.

In Greeley, Sandra met her husband, Marvin Dale, and the two were united in marriage in 1966 in Julesburg, Colorado. They made their home in Haxtun, Colorado. Sandra worked for the Haxtun Hospital, where they shared cherished moments until Marvin's passing in 1975. After the passing of Marvin, Sandra moved back to Greeley, CO..

Sandra returned to Ogallala in 1984 to be closer to her parents, a move that marked a new chapter in her life. Over the years, she dedicated herself to her work at Unical 76, Indian Hills Manor, and later at Travel Centers of America, where she retired in 2000. Sandra suffered the loss of her daughter, Mary Alice Dale, in June of 2016.

Sandra had a zest for life and enjoyed simple joys such as fishing, camping, and playing Bingo. Her warmth and enthusiasm for these pastimes brought her happiness and endeared her to many.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Ernie and Gertrude McVay; her husband, Marvin Dale;  her daughter, Mary Alice Dale, and brother Harry McVay.

Sandra is survived by her daughter, Florence Mae Dale, and son Marvin Dale, Jr., as well as the countless friends she made throughout her lifetime.

Sandra will be remembered for her loving nature, vibrant spirit, and the special place she held in the hearts of those who knew her.

A private Celebration of life will be held at a later date.
