Ruth "Kitty" Tilley, 68, of Grant, passed away quietly on Friday, May 31, 2013 in the Ogallala Community Hospital, due to complications of Multiple Sclerosis. Ruth was born August 14, 1944 in Palatka, Flor., the daughter of Greig and Marjorie Richardson. After high school graduation in Lompoc, Cal. she attended college in Santa Barbara. On February 12, 1968 Ruth married Carl Tilley. The couple resided in Long Beach, Cal. They lived in numerous locations while Carl served in the Navy. Ruth was a writer for the Julian Sun, a newspaper in Julian, Cal. Her hobbies included sewing and cooking. Ruth will be fondly remembered for her good nature, her sense of humor, and her ability to overcome any obstacle put in her way. Survivors include her husband of 46 years Carl Tilley of Grant, two sons: David Tilley and Greig Tilley, a brother George Richardson and six grandchildren. According to Ruth's wishes cremation was chosen with no visitation. There will be private family services at a later date.
