Ruth Johnson Obituary Ruth Anna Johnson, 96,of Ogallala, passed away on Monday February 19, 2018 at Good Samaritan Society in Beatrice. Ruth was born August 1, 1921, in Keith County near Roscoe in the farm home of her parents Claus and Anna (Lueneburg) Eichner . Ruth attended elementary school in a rural school near Roscoe. Ruth was confirmed in the Lutheran faith in May 1936. Ruth was employed at the Good-All Electric where she was a line Supervisor for five years. While working there she met Melvin G. Johnson. Ruth and Melvin entered into marriage on December 19, 1946, in the Ogallala St. Paul's Lutheran Church. They made their home in Ogallala until moving to their farm house north of Roscoe in the 1960's. The couple continued to reside there until 2010 when they moved into Ogallala. Ruth was a lifetime member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church of Ogallala and was active in the Ladies Aid and the Lutheran Women Missionary League. Ruth served in several offices where she was the president and secretary. She also served as congregation Treasurer . Ruth volunteered as a Girl Scout Leader and was a Pink Lady with the Ogallala Community Hospital for ten years. Ruth's hobbies included flower and vegetable gardening, sewing, quilting, baking and playing cards with family and friends. Preceding her in death were her parents, her husband, and brother Ray Eichner. Survivors include her children Beverly (Lonnie) Duensing of Beatrice and Jody (Mike) Brown of Paola, KS; One brother LeRoy Eichner of Ogallala; five grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren. Visitation will be Sunday February 25 from 2pm to 6pm with family greeting friends from 4pm to 6pm in the Draucker Funeral Home of Ogallala. Funeral services will be Monday February 26 at 10am in St. Paul's Lutheran Church of Ogallala with Rev. John Stubenrouch officiating. Burial is in the Ogallala Cemetery. Online condolences can be sent by signing the Guest Book. The service will be live streamed for those unable to attend. A memorial is established to the Ogallala St. Paul's Lutheran Church and School. . Draucker Funeral Home of Ogallala is entrusted with arrangements.
