Rosalyn "Rosie" Detwiler, 71, of Bismarck, ND,and formerly of Big Springs, Nebr., went to be with her Lord Jesus on October 4, 2014 at approximately 7 a.m. due to lung cancer. Rosie was born October 14, 1942 in Lewisburg Ohio to Floyd F. and Viola (Helman) Fraizer. She attended school in Mount Gilead Ohio where she graduated in 1961. After graduating high school she worked at North Electric in Galion Ohio from 1961-1965. She married Kenneth B. Detwiler on April 8, 1965 in Edison Ohio at the Methodist Church. Rosalyn traveled with Kenneth while he served in the United States Air Force from the time they were married until 1967 when they settled in Columbus Ohio. They lived in Columbus Ohio until 1976 when they moved to the Ogallala and Big Springs area. They lived and worked in the Nebraska and Colorado area until they moved to North Dakota with their son in May 2014. Rosalyn lived a full life being very energetic and caring. She was very involved with gymnastics and dreamed of being a majorette in band from the time she began to walk up to the point that she had polio at the age of 13. Being that she was so full of energy, determined, and a fighter that didnt give up, she walked out of Childrens Hospital after 6 months in 1956-1957 after she was told that she would never walk again. Later, she had two children, Terry Fraizer Detwiler and Tina Marie Detwiler. For many years she raised her children and was a great mother. Again, in 1983 she had to continue fighting as she was diagnosed with breast cancer. Soon after, she was cured and was cancer free for 30 years. Once again, in 1989 she had to have major spinal surgery which was a result of the polio at age 13. Again, and again she amazed those that stood closely by as she triumphed over one thing after another. She was a great example of determination as she lovedand lived life. Later, as her children grew and married she became a grandmother. Herchildren, grandchildren, and great grandchildren were the world to her. She loved to sing and worship Jesus at the churches she attended and the pageants and community choirs she was involved with. She also loved to paint, sew, and do all kinds of other crafts. Rosie was very outgoing and loved to be around and helping people, especially children. Rosie is survived by her husband Kenneth B. Detwiler of Bismarck, ND, her son Terry F.
