Ron Carr, Sr., 86, lifetime South Whitman rancher, died June 28, 2017, in Perkins County Health in Grant, Nebraska. Ron was born June 15, 1931, in Whitman, NE the son of Eslie and Violet (Moran) Carr. He attended Mullen schools and graduated from Mullen High School in 1949. On June 3, 1951 Ron was united in marriage to Shirley Bonifield in Hyannis, Nebraska. The couple moved to their ranch south of Whitman where they raised their five children. Preceding him in death were his parents, four brothers and one sister. Survivors include his wife Shirley, and sons Ronn (Judy) Carr, Randy Carr and Reagan (Vivienne) Carr, all of Whitman; two daughters: Sally Monahan and Sue Albert, both of Arthur, nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. There will be Private Family Services in the Eclipse Cemetery in rural McPherson County. George Licking will officiate. A memorial has been established in his memory. Draucker Funeral Home of Ogallala is entrusted with the arrangements.
