Rene' J. Foran

September 27, 1946 — October 3, 2018

Rene' Foran Obituary Rene' J. Foran, 72, of Ogallala, passed away on Wednesday, October 3, 2018 at the Perkins County Health Services in Grant. Rene' was born on September 27, 1946 to Edwin and Phyllis (Bublitz) Fletcher in Winona, MN. She attended school at Winona High School and graduated in 1964. She then attended Winona Secretarial College for 2 years before attending college at New York State in Fredonia, NY. Rene' married Leslie Foran on October 18, 1973 in Winona, where they made their home. She devoted her life to her family. They moved to Columbus, WI for 1 year and moved back to Winona. They moved to St. Pierre, SD, in 1986 and in 1998 they moved south to New Albany, MS. Leslie's job brought them to Ogallala in 2003 as he worked for the rail road. Rene' would baby sit neighborhood kids in the communities they lived. She watched over many, raising them alongside her own; they affectionately referred to her as Ne'ne. Children of all ages were drawn to Rene, and it was common to have her house filled with the sound of laughter and music. Later in life, when grandchildren started to arrive, Rene' became an invaluable part of their lives. From rocking her grand babies to sleep, until time to attend their graduations, she was ever present; offering love, advice and encouragement. Rene' loved country music and possessed a vast knowledge of it's history and current recordings. She found ways of putting country music trivia into conversations and always had music playing in the background of her daily life. She was passionate about the Native American lifestyle, and believed in many of their cultural ways. Rene' enjoyed attending pow-wows and traveling for other Native American activities. She owned several pieces of Southwestern tribal art and many recordings of Lakota music. Rene' was a proud supporter of St. Joseph's Indian School of Chamberlain, SD, and other organizations devoted to the Native American culture. Even in sickness Rene' had a quick wit and quiet sense of humor that kept you on your toes. She will be surely missed by everyone whose lives she touched. Rene' is survived by her loving spouse Leslie, 3 daughters, Lisa (Ed) Moran of Omaha, NE, Kelly (Dean) Runquist of Ogallala, NE, Megan Foran of Colorado Springs, CO; son, George Foran of Colorado Springs, CO; 1 brother Dennis (Joan) Fletcher of Eagle, WI, granddaughters, Alicia (Scott) Trautman, Ceriah Moran, Melanie Crocker, Amber Crocker, and Courtney Mink; grandsons, Isacc Moran, Noah Moran, Joseph Moran, Nicholas Crocker and Cody Mink; and 2 great-grandsons, Jaxson Trautman and Leo Key. She was preceded in death by her parents, 1 sister Rachelle Pagel, 1 brother Gregory Fletcher, a grandson Austin Hunter, and a granddaughter Patience Mink.
