Peggy Rose Gade

Peggy Gade Obituary Peggy Rose Gade, 54, of Lewellen, NE went with the Lord on Friday, July 27th at the University Of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha, surrounded by loved ones. Peggy was born July 8, 1964 at Oshkosh, to Vernon "Pete" and Norma (McNally) Stokey. She was the youngest of six children. Peggy was her fathers shadow and could always be found in the shop at their family owned gas station. She received her early education at Lewellen and graduated from Lewellen Rural High School in 1982. Peggy was an incredible student and athlete. Peggy attended Chadron State College for a brief time before moving back to Lewellen. On December 17, 1983, Peggy married Gregory Vance Gade of Sunol and they were blessed with two children Tara and Blake. Peggy loved spending time with her family and friends, gardening, sewing, and cooking. Peggy was very involved in their family farm/ranch located east of Lewellen. In 2008, she began selling crop insurance and started Gade Insurance. She cherished any time that she could get with her family and most of all, her grandchildren. Peggy was a very kind and strong person. She never let her health battle change her positive outlook on life. Her family and friends always came first. Peggy was active in her local church and in the lives of so many people. She will be remembered as a great mother, sister, aunt, daughter, friend and most importantly, wife. Peggy is survived by her husband Greg Gade of 34 years; her daughter Tara (Brian) Canning of Ogallala; Blake Gade of Lewellen; her mother Norma Stokey of Lewellen; her brother Jim (Kathy) Stokey of Chadron; her sister Kathy Stokey of Gering; her sister Sue (Lloyd) Spangler of Norfolk; her sister Pat (Marlan) Bloyd of Sioux Falls, SD; her sister Linda Thompson of Gering; Grandchildren Burklee and Braxon Canning of Ogallala; Special Niece Jennifer Baer of Gering. She is preceded in death by her father Vernon "Pete" Stokey of Lewellen. A memorial is established in her memory. Memorial services will be held on Thursday, August 2nd at 10:00 am in the Lewellen Tiger Den (high school) in Lewellen, NE with pastor Janie Freeman officiating.
