Pauline Armknecht, 88, of Omaha and formerly of North Platte and Ogallala, died Thursday, July 31, 2014, in the Hospice House in Omaha. Edith Pauline Armknecht was born August 31, 1925 in North Platte, Nebr., the daughter of Alfred and Enola (Smith) Gordon. She graduated from Ogallala High School in 1944. Pauline received Normal Training and taught country school for several years. On January 25, 1946 she married Eldon Armknecht at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Ogallala. They resided and farmed south of Ogallala until 1964 when they moved into Ogallala. Pauline was employed as a teller at First National Bank for many years. She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Ogallala and later at Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church in North Platte. Her hobbies included cake decorating, candy making, and doing crafts. Preceding her in death were her parents, her husband, sisters Naomi Mailand and Aileen Gordon, brothers John and Darrell, and brother-in-law LaVerne Frosh. Survivors include her son: John (Jan) Armknecht of Omaha, and daughters: Mary (Bill) Luebbe of Utica, NE, Donna (Terry) Nelson of Louisville, CO., and Arline (Loel) Loyd of Blair, NE. Ten grandchildren: Brian Armknecht, Kerry Sanders (husband Paul), Don Evans (wife Krista), Gordon Luebbe (wife Emily) Andy Nelson (fiancee Jenny Knudson), Brenna Nelson, Kurt Nelson, Daniel Loyd, Aaron Loyd, and Tim Loyd; Three great-grandchildren: Benjamin Luebbe, Charlotte Luebbe, and Owen Evans; Two brothers: Alfred Gordon, Clifford (Marie) Gordon, Five sisters: Evelyn Frosh, Darlene (Dale) Elder, Shirley (Ron) Ziegler, Joan (Jerry) Perlinger, and Marilyn (Roger) Dahlkoetter. brother-in-law Vernon Mailand, Sisters-in-law: Jeannette Gordon and Donna Gordon, and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be Sunday, Aug. 3, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Mountain Time at Draucker Funeral Home. The Funeral Service will be Monday, Aug. 4, at 2:30 p.m. Central Time, from Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church in North Platte, located on the corner of West E & Baytree Ave. Rev. Robert Deardoff will officiate. Interment is in the Ogallala Cemetery. A memorial has been established in her name with Mission Central, 40718 Hwy. E16, Mapleton, Iowa, 51034.
