Norman Nelson Obituary Norman C. 'Norm' Nelson, age 79, of Ogallala, NE, passed away, Thursday, April 22, 2021 at the Ogallala Community Hospital in Ogallala. Norm was born November 18, 1941 in Keith County, NE to Raymond and Margaret (Christensen) Nelson. Norm attended District 7 school, south of Roscoe and then Ogallala High School before going to work on the family farm with his dad and brothers. In 1973, they formed Nelson Agri Corp where he worked with his brothers his entire life. On June 1, 1968, Norm was united in marriage to Nettie Fae Lynn in Ogallala, NE and they made their home south of Roscoe. Norm enjoyed being creative with wrought iron and other scrap metal. He had an eye for detail and was a great fabricator. He did an extensive amount of custom farming for many friends and neighbors and worked together with neighbors on farming projects. He was always willing to push snow, drag a road, mow ditches, and was quick to give a helping hand to anyone in need. Norm is survived by his wife, Nettie Fae Nelson; 3 brothers; Robert (Joan) Nelson; Don Nelson; David (Betty) Nelson, all of Ogallala; nephews and nieces; Steve (Carol) Nelson, of Ogallala; Mark (Julie) Nelson, of Hershey, NE; Linda (Randy) Dean, of Alliance, NE; Penny Nelson; Tim (Deb) Nelson, all of Pomona, KS; Valerie (Wayne) VanderSchaaf, of Guatemala; Jeff (Christina) Nelson, of North Platte, NE; Joel (Angela) Nelson, of Gordon, NE; Brent (Mary Jane) Nelson, of Ogallala; Doug Nelson, of Greeley, CO; Scott (Rhonda) Nelson, of Emerson, IA; Matthew Nelson, of Ogallala; Sara (Jason) Kirkpatrick, of Grant, NE; and Adam (Megan) Nelson, of Amherst, WI; brother-in-law, Hanford (Kathy) Lynn, of North Platte, NE; sisters-in-law, Althea (Arvid) Wiest, of Beatrice, NE; Coral Spracklen, of Brule, NE; as well as numerous great, and great-grand nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by his parents; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Lewis and Shirley Lynn; 1 brother, Ray and his wife Donna Nelson; and brother-in-law, Bruce Spracklen. Visitation will be held Monday, April 26, 2021 from 9:00 a.m.-6:00 p.m. with family greeting friends from 4:00 p.m.-6:00 p.m. in the Draucker Funeral Home Chapel. A Graveside Service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 27, 2021 in the Ogallala Cemetery in Ogallala with Pastor Eric Wait of New Hope Church officiating.
