Norma Quick, 75, longtime Keith County resident, died Monday, November 3, 2014, in her Keystone home. Norma was born May 21, 1939 in Hayes County, Nebr., the daughter of Arno and Mary (Kennedy) Karre. She attended rural school in Hayes County through eighth grade. Norma graduated from St. Patricks Catholic High School in North Platte in 1958. On November 28, 1959 Norma married Jerry Quick in Denver, Colo. The couple made their home in Ogallala and Norma was employed by Goodalls until 1960. While being a homemaker she also provided child care until 1967. Jerry and Norma started their own business, namely Quick Electric, in 1967 and operated it until 2004. In 2000 the couple built a home near Lake McConaughy and have resided there since. Norma served the community as Director of the Keith-Arthur Food Pantry for the past eleven years. Norma was a member of St. Lukes Catholic Church. Preceding her in death were her parents, son Mark, brother Jerry Karre, and brother-in-law Robert Knoll. Survivors include her husband Jerry Quick of Keystone, and two daughters: Brenda (Scott) Griffith and Synthia (Patrick) Stanosheck, all of Lincoln. Also eleven grandchildren: Aaron Quick, Mark Griffith, John Griffith, Julie Griffith, Hallelujah Griffith, Judah Griffith, Joe Stanosheck, Jared Stanocheck, Zach Stanosheck, and Elisa (Brad) Znamenacek and four great-grandchildren. One sister Arlene Knoll of Hershey and seven brothers Rod (Mary Ann) Karre of Westminster, Colo.; Jack (Pat) Karre of Grant; Tom (LaDonna) Karre of Kearney; Tim (Joan) Karre of Omaha; Rich Karre of Maywood; Doug Karre and Fred Karre, both of Colo. Springs, Colo. The family chose cremation. The Rosary Service will be Friday, November 7, at 10 a.m., followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. in St. Lukes Catholic Church. Rev. Bryan Ernest is the Celebrant. A memorial has been established to the Keith & Arthur County Food Pantry.
