Nancy Dykes Obituary Nancy Mardel Dykes 66 of Oxford Nebraska passed away Thursday September 30, 2021 in Bryan West Memorial in Lincoln Nebraska. Graveside Services are scheduled at 10 a.m. Thursday October 7, 2021 at Arthur County Cemetery at Arthur Nebraska with Pastor Chuck Rager officiating. Nancy was born August 21, 1955 to Robert K and Odeth (Huffman) Dykes at Alliance Nebraska. She lived her first two years in McPherson County on her Huffman Grandparents ranch. Nancy was baptized at the Eclipse Episcopal Church on the Dismal River on May 30, 1956. She was confirmed at St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Ogallala Nebraska. In November 1957 the family moved to Baldy Valley in Arthur County Nebraska. Nancy attended school in Ogallala Nebraska at the ESU 16 training School, and graduated in 1973. After graduation she worked at Paks until moving to Holdrege Nebraska in July 1988. Nancy was affiliated with Mosaic at Holdrege where she worked and made many new friends and had many new experiences. In 2014 Nancy moved to a host home with Sherwin and Betty Sweely of Holdrege and later Nancy and the family moved to Oxford Nebraska. Nancy loved to visit with people and very much enjoyed going with Betty and Sherwin and family to various activities in the area. Nancy was famous for her collection of movies, pencils, pens, little wrenches and screwdrivers. She very much loved to be in the middle of the action and joining in with giving her opinion. Nancy is survived by her sister Eloise Dykes of Ogallala, her nephew Rob (Tina) Dykes of Lincoln Nebraska, Three Aunts and numerous cousins and a multitude of friends, Special Friends Betty & Sherwin Sweeley and their extended Family. Nancy was preceded in death by her Grandparents Howard and Elva Dykes, Ruby and Bird Huffman, her parents Robert and Odeth Dykes, one brother David Dykes, one sister Doris Dykes and three nieces Rachel, Maria, Sheena Dykes. Memorials in Nancy's honor may be mailed to Mosaic at Holdrege 302 West Ave. / P.O. Box 496 Holdrege Nebraska 68949 There will be no Visitation. Grave side services will be held on, Thursday, October 7th, 2021 at 10:00am in the Arthur Cemetery, with Rev. Chuck Rager officiating.
