Morris "Moe" Beans, 75, of Ogallala, died Monday, June 16, 2014, in his home. Morris Eugene Beans was born May 16, 1939 in Denver, Colorado. As an infant, Morris "Moe" moved to Elwood, Nebraska and lived on the family farm with his grandmother and Aunt Ella and Uncle Harry Ihfe. When Moe was twelve years old his mother remarried and they moved to North Platte. He graduated from North Platte High School in 1957. He worked for Union Pacific Railroad until 1965. He then was employed as an over-the-road driver with Consolidated Freightways. Moe resided in North Platte and later in Lincoln. In 1995 he retired and moved to Ogallala. He attended First Baptist Church. His hobbies included fishing, hunting, camping, and gardening. Survivors include two daughters: Cindy and her husband Bert Smith of Chapman, Nebr. and Susan Newcomb of Houston, Tex. and one son Michael Beans of Ogallala. Special Friend Marilyn Baca of Ogallala. Also several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Preceding him in death were his parents. Cremation was chosen. A Memorial Service will be Friday, June 20, at 10 a.m. in Draucker Funeral Home. Rev. Curtis Tschetter of the First Baptist Church will officiate.
