Marlene J. Ringer, 78, longtime Ogallala resident, died Monday, July 25, 2016, in the Ogallala Community Hospital. Marlene was born May 29, 1938 in Deuel County, NE, the daughter of Fred A. and Wilma Ester (Leef) Miller. Marlene received her early schooling in a country school in Deuel County. She attended high school in Julesburg, CO, graduating in 1955. She then attended nursing school in North Platte, NE. On September 21, 1973 Marlene was united in marriage to William 'Jack' Ringer. The couple resided in Ogallala where Marlene was employed by Ogallala Community Hospital. Marlene was a Licensed Practical Nurse for twenty-seven years. She retired in 2000. Marlene was a member of the Church of Christ and served as a Sunday School teacher for several years and was active in many church activities. Her hobbies included reading and Bible study. She was a member of RSVP. Marlene enjoyed being with her grandchildren and attended their activities. Preceding her in death were her parents, one brother Eugene Miller, and two great-grandchildren: Joshua Ringer and Chasie Ringer. Survivors include her husband Jack Ringer of Ogallala and her children: Michelle (Lennie) Collins and Mitchell (Anita) Ringer, all of Ogallala and Kenneth (Deb) Ringer of Omaha, NE; two sisters Darlene Porter and Connie (Larry) Brixius, all of Milliken, CO. And eight grandchildren: Doug (Jessica) Ringer and children Joseph, Sonja, and Sophia, of Kansas City, MO; Kenny, Jr. (Erica) Ringer and children Adrian, Hanna, and Maliyah, of Omah, NE; Jennifer Collins (Fiance Jesse Casillas) and children Jaydon, Jace, Anthony, and Andrew, of Midland, TX. Zachory (wife Montana) Ringer and children Colton, Riatta, and Sedar of Ogallala Trey Hilliard, III. and his son 'I.V.' of Omaha Lindsey (Joe) Wyzenski and children Brody and Bailey of Omaha; John Brown and children Maegan, Kaitlynn, and Carson of Brule; Kylee Collins and finance Joshua Mehdinia of Lincoln Visitation will be Friday, July 29, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. in Draucker Funeral Home. The Funeral Service will be Saturday, July 30, at 10 a.m. in the Ogallala Church of Christ with Bill Lewis and Bobby Brueggeman officiating. The Service will be live streamed from drauckerfuneralhome.com, for those unable to attend. Interment is in the Fort McPherson National Cemetery near Maxwell, NE, on Monday, August 1, at 11 a.m. Central Time.
