Marie ( Pierce) Saunders Obituary Marie Alveda (Pierce) Saunders passed away March 25, 2022 at the Ogallala Community Hospital. She was born August 2, 1932 in Keystone, Nebraska to Guy and Alma (Osborn) Pierce. She married Ward W. Saunders on October 25, 1952 in Oshkosh, Nebraska. They lived in Ogallala, where their four children were born to this union. They were Guy, Terry, Barbara and Timothy. In 1960 they moved to Wyoming, where she took on a job babysitting. In 1972 they moved back to Nebraska and she worked as a CNA at the nursing home in Oshkosh. Once she retired in 1992, she relocated to Ogallala to be near her mother, Alma. She loved to crochet, work with plastic canvas, and embroider on pillowcases. She also loved to collect salt and pepper shakers and cookie jars. She enjoyed getting together with family and friends. She liked to occasionally go to the casino. Graveside services will be held Saturday, April 2nd, 2022 at 11:00 am at the Ogallala Cemetery with Reverend Lisa Hadler. She is survived by daughter, Barbara Chadwick of Oshkosh, Nebraska, brother., Melvin Pierce of Gering Nebraska; sisters, Lois Klinge and Carol Creason of Ogallala, Nebraska. Grandchildren; Charles Saunders, Mattie Saunders, Matthew (Catrina) Saunders, Gina (Waylon) Reynolds, James (Katie) Ogier, ELizabeth (Todd) Yost, Karla Chadwick and Bethany (Jessie) Thelander, 17 Great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Ward Saunders; Sons Terry, Guy and Timothy Saunders; brother, Virgil (Donna) Pierce; two sisters, Irene (Dale) Wood, and Agnes (Bill) Engel; and a great granddaughter.
