Lori A Zeilinger

September 24, 1954 — October 7, 2016

Lori A. Zeilinger, 62, longtime Grant resident and attorney, died at the Chase County Community Hospital as a result of an auto accident. Lori was born on September 24, 1954 at Travis Air Force Base in Fairfield, California. She was the first of three daughters born to Harold and Lois (Ferguson) Bishop. Lori moved to Ogallala, Nebraska with her mother and two sisters in 1962. She received her education in Ogallala and graduated with the senior class of 1972. She then attended Doane College in Crete, Nebraska and graduated in 1976 summa cum laude. She then went on to graduate from law school at the University of Nebraska in 1979. Lori moved back to Ogallala and her daughter Michi was born in 1981. She opened Zeilinger Law Office shortly thereafter and has practiced law in Western Nebraska for the past 35 years, touching countless lives as a tireless and committed advocate. She moved with her mother and daughter to Grant in 1994 to serve as the Perkins County Attorney. Lori had a heart for her community and served on the board for several civic organizations including Southwest Nebraska Community Betterment, the Ogallala City Council, the Girl Scouts and the United Methodist Church. She loved working with the Mock Trial team at the local high school and had a tremendous impact on numerous students lives. Her greatest joy was her family and she will be remembered as a loving mother, sister, grandmother and aunt. Preceding her in death were her mother, her nephew Dusty Glinn, and her sister Brenda Glinn. Survivors include her daughter Michi Sefick, son-in-law John Sefick, and grandsons Jonah Sefick and Isaac Sefick, all of Port Washington, New York. Her sister Libby Gengenbach and brother-in-law Donn Gengenbach of Grant, Nebraska, brother-in-law Jack Glinn of Ogallala, Nebraska, and nephews Bo Glinn (Catie Dolan) of Ogallala, Nebraska and Drew Glinn (Jessica Adams) of Aztec, New Mexico, and many other relatives and friends. Visitation will be Wednesday, October 12, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Draucker Funeral Home. The funeral service will be Thursday, October 13, at 10 a.m. in the Ogallala New Hope Church with Pastor Matt Waitley officiating. Graveside services are in the Palisade Cemetery at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday. A memorial has been established in her memory. Online condolences may be sent by signing the Guest Book.
