Leonard Harms Obituary Leonard E. Harms, 63 of Elsie, NE passed away, Thursday, January 4, 2024, at his home in Elsie. Leonard was born July 13, 1960, in Grant, NE to Harold and Arlene (Anderson) Harms. The family made their home west of Brule, NE. Leonard attended K-9th Grade in Brule, then when the family moved to Wallace, he continued his high school years at Wheatland High School in Madrid where he graduated in 1978. On February 9th, 1985 Leonard married Linda K. Gifford in the Paxton United Methodist Church, Paxton, NE, they were blessed with a son, Lyle. He worked for NPPD during shutdowns, then he went to work for, Harold Peterson, Glen Anderson, and Billie Robertsons family farms from 1985 to 1997. He also worked for Ron Regier at Regier Equipment and then in 1997 he went to work for the Lendon Thompson farm and ranch. Leonard had many hobbies that kept him busy including, restoring antique tractors, cars, gas pumps, welding, and fixing pivots. He is preceded in death by his parents, a brother Randy, and a brother-in-law Larry Kuskie. Leonard is survived by his wife Linda Harms, son Lyle Harms of Arthur, NE; two sisters, Norma Jean Kuskie of Grant, NE, and Marsha Geisert of Wichita, KS; sister-in-law Sherri Harms of Wisner, NE; brother-in-law Dave (Nila) Powers of Dos Palos, CA and mother-in-law Hazel Gifford of North Platte, NE; and many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be Tuesday, January 9th, 2024 from 9:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M. at Draucker Funeral Home Chapel, Ogallala, NE. Funeral services will be Wednesday, January 10th, 2024 at 10:00 A.M. at Paxton United Methodist Church with Pastor Mark Baldwin officiating. A Memorial has been established to the Paxton United Methodist Church Internment will be in the Paxton Cemetery, Paxton, NE.
