Laura Dunning, 83, longtime Ogallala resident, died Tuesday, May 14, 2013 at Indian Hills Manor. Laura Lea Borm was born January 9, 1930 in Big Springs, Nebr., the daughter of Thomas and Margaretha (Markmann) Borm. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith. Laura attended school in Big Springs. On July 3, 1950 Laura married Keith Dunning and the couple lived in Ogallala. To this union two children were born: Neal Keith and Linde Lea. Laura worked at the Junction Restaurant, at Browns Conoco Cafe at Big Springs and later at TRW in Ogallala. Her hobbies included baking, board games, and spending time with her family. She was a member of St. Pauls Lutheran Church. Preceding her in death was her husband, her parents and five brothers: Pete, Tom, August, Albert, and Ernest; and four sisters: Anna Paddock, Marie Sandquist, Matilda Henry, and Rosie Dewey. Survivors include her son Neal Dunning and his wife Ann of Denver, Colo. and her daughter Linde and her husband Terry Ringling of Valley. Also three grandchildren Leah Buller of Omaha; Adam Dunning of Denver, Colo., and Katie Dunning of Denver. Two great-grandchildren Charlie and Leona Buller. Also numerous nieces and nephews and many close friends. Visitation will be Thursday, May 16, from 1 to 5 p.m. at Draucker Funeral Home. The funeral service will be Friday, May 17, at 10:30 a.m. in St. Pauls Lutheran Church with Rev. John Stubenrouch officiating. Interment is in the Ogallala Cemetery. A memorial has been established to St. Pauls Lutheran Church.
