Larry Lee Fester

Larry Lee Fester, 87, of Ogallala, Nebraska passed away Monday, May 11, 2026, at the Ogallala Community Hospital.

Larry was born on August 1, 1938, In Kearney, Nebraska to Alfred and Elanor “Riley” Fester.

Larry attended school in Shelton, Nebraska where he graduated high school in 1958.

He worked for Campbell Soup in Omaha, Nebraska until he joined the United States Coast Guard on May 29, 1961, where he served in Seatle, Washington until he was discharged on May 28, 1967. Moving to Ogallala to work at TRW. He met Judith Purintun while working at TRW and they were married on June 30, 1968, in Gothenburg Nebraska. Making their home in Ogallala where they continued their careers at TRW now American Shizuki Inc.

Wayne retired from American Shizuki after 55 years.

Larry and Judy adopted their son Wayne Fester in 1976 when he was 3 days old. Larry loved traveling and camping.

Survivors include his son Wayne of Ogallala, his brother Gale of Kearney, NE, sister Shirley Wrage of Shelton, NE.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents, wife Judy and his brother Jim.

Memorial services will be held Tuesday May 19, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at the United Methodist Church In Ogallala with Rev Curt Magelky Officiating.

Inurnment will be at the Ogallala Cemetery.

Memorials have been established to the United Methodist Church in Ogallala.
