Kim Heflin, 62, lifelong Ogallala resident, died August 17, 2015 in Great Plains Health of North Platte. Kim was born July 22, 1953 in Buzzards Bay, Mass., the son of John and Beverly (Gile) Heflin. He grew up in Ogallala and graduated from Ogallala High School in 1972. Kim purchased Spruce Street Standard in 1980 and operated it for several years. In 1982 Kim married Ann Snogren. To this union two sons were born. He was employed with Rainbow Bread Co. in Grand Island before returning to Ogallala, then working for Old Home Bread Company. In 2003 Kim purchased the Critters and Fins pet store and operated it for seven years. In 2012 Kim married Diana Regan and the couple resided in Ogallala. Kim enjoyed sharing his passion for pheasant hunting and walleye fishing with his sons. He loved spending time with his youngest son Justin working on his hot rod car and shared his passion for motorcycles with his oldest son Jonathan. Kim was always proud of his sons. His hobbies included raising German Shorthair Pointers. Preceding him in death were his parents, grandparents Tedd and Ruth Gile, and grandmother Frances Tjaden. Survivors include his wife Diana Heflin of Ogallala, two sons: Justin Heflin of Ogallala and Jonathan Heflin of Stapleton; one step-son Andrew (Nicole) Loomis of Sterling, Colo. and three step-daughters: Stephanie (Josh) Jenkins of Paxton, Diana Garcia of Ogallala, and Christine (Dustin) Stark of Galion, Ohio; and 13 step-grandchildren Two sisters: Kay (Steve) Anderson and Shelly (Rick) Andersen, all of Ogallala. The family chose cremation. Friends may sign the Register Book on Thursday, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Draucker Funeral Home. The memorial graveside service will be Friday, August 21, at 10 a.m. in the Ogallala Cemetery. The Rev. John Martino of the Tryon Hall Church will officiate.
