Kent Reimers

Kent Reimers, 76, of Arizona City, Ariz., and formerly of Ogallala, died May 7, 2013 at St. Joseph's Hospital and Medical Center in Phoenix, Ariz. Kent Henry Reimers was born August 9, 1936 in Ogallala., the son of Rudolph H. and Elizabeth (Robacker) Reimers. He attended school in Ogallala, graduating in 1954. Kent married Annette Drost on August 25, 1955. The couple resided in Ogallala. Kent served in the Nebraska National Guard. He farmed and sold cars for many years and was a manager in the agricultural industry in Ogallala and Brule; Rolla, No. Dak.; and later at Trenton, Nebr. The couple moved to Arizona in 1996. Kent was a member of Ogallala St. Lukes Catholic Church and was a member of St. Helen of the Cross Catholic Church in Eloy, Ariz. He served on many boards, was president of the Ogallala High School Booster Club and taught religious education. Kent enjoyed bowling, hunting, golfing and was an avid Nebraska Cornhuskers fan. Preceding him in death were his parents and a brother Kirk Reimers. Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Annette; three sons: Mark (Kim) Reimers and Tom (Nancy) Reimers, all of Bennington; and Matt (Kari) Reimers of Ogallala; Three daughters: Barbara Reimers of Chandler, Ariz., Nancy (Ed) Crandell of Cedar Falls, Iowa, and Mary Lou (Jerry) Stueve of Logan, Iowa. Also ten grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. The family chose cremation. The Wake & Rosary Service will be on Monday, May 13, at 7 p.m. at St. Lukes Catholic Church in Ogallala. The Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be on Tuesday, May 14, at 10 a.m. in St. Lukes Catholic Church with Rev. Bryan Ernest the Celebrant. Inurnment is in the Ogallala Cemetery A memorial has been established to the Arizona Kidney Foundation.
