Justin M. Birge, 23, of Ogallala, died April 25, 2014, in his home. Justin was born March 13, 1991 in Monroe, Wash., the son of Robert and Lisa (Gustafson) Birge. At the age of twelve, Justin moved with his family to Ogallala. After graduating from Ogallala High School in 2009 he attended Hastings College. Justin joined the National Guard completing basic training in Georgia. He also worked for Nebr. Game & Parks at Lake McConaughy during the summers. In 2011 he attended college in Chadron. Justin returned to Ogallala and was employed at Taco John's. Survivors include his parents Robert and Lisa (Gustafson) Birge, his sister Emily Birge, and his brother Jordan Birge, all of Ogallala. Also grandparents: Les and Nancy Gustafson of Snohomish, Wash. and Ronald and Kandy Birge of Gold Bar, Wash. The family chose cremation. The memorial service will be Tuesday, April 29, at 2 p.m. in St. Pauls Lutheran Church with Rev. John Stubenrouch officiating. Inurnment is in the Ogallala Cemetery with Military Honors rendered by the Nebraska National Guard. A memorial has been established in his name.
