Juanita L. Lopez

Juanita L. Lopez, 72, of Ogallala, died Wednesday, September 30, 2015, at Indian Hills Healthcare Community. Juanita was born January 15, 1943, in Santa Cruz, Cal., the daughter of John and Adeline (Barnes) Lawrence. She attended school in San Antonio, Texas. She was united in marriage to Gilbert R. Lopez. Juanita also resided in other communities including Santa Cruz, Cal.; Modesto, Cal.; and Thomson, Georgia. Juanita was a member of the VFW Auxiliary and was a Past Vice-President. Her hobbies included gardening, cooking, traveling, doing crossword puzzles, and going to casinos. She especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. Preceding her in death was her son Tino Flores, III; her husband Gilbert Lopez, her mother Adeline Aschenbeck and her grandmother Bessie Anderson. Survivors include her children: Robert Flores (fiance Maria Stepp) of Lewisville, Geor.; Rachel (Greg) Medina of Ogallala; and Melissa Whitley, of Georgia. Two brothers: John E. Lawrence of Castroville, Tex. and Ron Lawrence of Modesto, Cal. Also nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Cremation was chosen. A private family gathering was held.
