Joyce Hermes

Joyce Hermes, 83, of Grant and formerly of Ogallala, died Monday, January 2, 2017, in Golden Ours Convalescent Home. Joyce was born March 18, 1933, at Queens, New York, the daughter of Francesco and Elizabeth (Popler) Tinaro. After high school she married Robert Roche. Together they raised three children, Robert, Jr., Frank, and Janice. They later divorced. In 1970 Joyce married Henry Hermes. They made their home in Commack, New York. After his passing, Joyce moved to Ogallala to be closer to her family. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Henry, two sisters and brothers-in-law: Connie and Peter Seidita and Dorothy and Patrick Latrenta. Survivors include two sons, Bob (Cheryl) Roche of Ogallala and Frank (Sandy) Roche of Wantagh, NY; one daughter Janice Roche of Lincoln; and four grandchildren, Michael Roche, Betsy Roche, Jeff Roche and Alex (Michael) Prisco. The family chose cremation. A private family service will be held at a later date. Online condolences may be sent by signing the Guest Book.
