Josh C. Annen, age 24, of Hays Center and formerly of Ogallala, died Friday, September 19, 2014 at Chase County Hospital in Imperial due to an automobile accident. Joshua Clinton Annen was born June 27, 1990, in Ogallala, the son of Jack C. and Della L. (Cudaback) Annen. Josh graduated from Ogallala High School in 2009. He enlisted in the National Guards during his senior year. He then attended University of Nebraska at Kearney and also worked part time for Builders Warehouse. In 2011 he began full time employment for Builders. In 2013 Josh went to work for Messner Construction in Kearney. At the time of his death he had been employed with McKillip Farming Co. in Hays Center for several months. His hobbies included target shooting, hunting, golfing, video games, and watching Husker football. Preceding him in death were grandfathers Darwin Annen in 1969 and Ronald Cudaback in 2010; and an uncle Jamie Annen in 1996. Survivors include his father Jack Annen and his wife Rowena of Ogallala, his mother Della Cole of Cheyenne, Wyo., and his step-father Darrin Cole of Ogallala. Four sisters: Jessica Annen of Cheyenne, Wyo., Heather Annen of Hastings, Megan Cole of Ogallala, and Pinky Montero of Kalamazoo, Mich. Three brothers: Jordan Annen of Kearney, Brandon Cole of Ogallala, and Mark Montero of Wyoming, Mich. Also grandparents: Darla and Ken Brestel of Ogallala and Patricia Cudaback of Katie, Okla. Visitation will be Wednesday, September 24, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Draucker Funeral Home. The funeral service will be Thursday, Sept. 25, at 10 a.m. in the New Hope Worship Center in Ogallala. Rev. Curtis Tschetter of the First Baptist Church will officiate. Burial is in the Ogallala Cemetery with National Guard military honors. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established Teammates Mentoring Program (teammates.org).
