Joseph Lunsford Obituary Joseph Ray Lunsford, 75, of Brule, NE passed away Wednesday, May 10th, 2023 at Indian Hills Manor in Ogallala, NE after a year long battle with lung cancer. Joe was born on December 27th, 1947 to Luther and Rosa Belle (Wilson) Lunsford at the Clinton Indian Hospital in Clinton, Oklahoma. His childhood years were spent in Oklahoma and southern California, where he learned to break horses at the age of nine. He graduated from Calumet High School in Calumet, OK in 1968. As a young man, he followed the rodeo circuit, riding bulls. In 1977, he won the PRC bull riding event at Madison Square Garden with a score of 92. Joe moved to Nebraska in the 90's and lived in the Brule/Big Springs area, where he worked for various farmers and ranchers until he retired. No services planned.
