John Morris

John W. Morris, 39, of Ogallala, died Friday, November 7, 2014, in Rising City, Nebraska. John was born November 18, 1974 in Philadelphia, Penn., the son of Wayne E. and Mary M. (Kercher) Morris. As a small child he moved with his mother and brother to Ogallala in 1978. John attended school in Ogallala and obtained his General Equivalency Diploma. During his teen age years he returned to Pennsylvania for a short time attending high school there. John was employed as an auto mechanic in Grant and Ogallala. He was currently employed at Big Mac Diesel. In February of 2005 John married Angela Goldenstein and the couple made their home in Grant. They later divorced. His hobbies included fishing, hunting, and drag racing. John was an avid Steelers fan. He especially enjoyed spending time with his friends. Survivors include his sons Dameon Morris of Ogallala and Blake Morris of Venango; his mother Mary Morris of Ogallala; his father Wayne (wife Stephanie) Morris of Newberg, PA and his brother Duane (wife Samantha) Morris, of Landisburg, PA. Also an uncle and several aunts, a niece and nephew, cousins and many friends. Preceding him in death were his maternal grandparents: John and Marian Kercher and his fraternal grandparents: Oscar and Ailene Morris. Friends may pay their respects and sign the register book on Thursday, Nov. 20, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Draucker Funeral Home. The funeral service will be Friday, Nov. 21, at 1 p.m. in Draucker Funeral Home. Father Bryan Ernest of St. Lukes Catholic Church will officiate. A Private Family Interment Service will follow in the Ogallala Cemetery. Donations to the family in John's memory may be left at Adams Bank & Trust.
