Jimmy W. O'Brien, 67, of Ogallala, died Wednesday, May 4, 2016, in the Ogallala Community Hospital. Jimmy Wayne O'Brien was born December 14, 1948, in Corpus Christi, Texas, the son of Obbie and Agnes (Kalisek) O'Brien. He graduated from W B Ray High School in Corpus Christi. Jimmy was drafted into the Army and served from March 24, 1966 to March 4, 1969. On November 22, 1995, he was united in marriage to Mary Lou Crofutt. The couple resided in Bayside, Texas. The couple moved to Keystone, Nebraska in 1997. Jimmy was employed at several places including Junie Mae's, Ogallala School District, PAKS, and the Cedar Point Biological Research Station. He attended Keystone Presbyterian Church. Jimmy's hobbies included drawing, playing guitar, and gardening. Preceding him in death were his parents and sister Pat Ivy. Survivors include his daughter Kelly O'Brien, his father-in-law and mother-in-law Paul and June Croffutt, all of Keystone; his sister Lois Janak of Houston, Tex.; and his brothers Mitch O'Brien and George O'Brien, both of Corpus Christi, Tex., and several nieces and nephews. The family chose cremation. The Memorial Service is scheduled for Tuesday, May 17, 10:00 a.m. at the Keystone Presbyterian Church, Pastor Paul Kondy officiating.
