James 'Jim' Cadigan Obituary James 'Jim' F. Cadigan, age 93, of Lewellen, NE, passed away, Wednesday, December 16, 2020 at his home in Lewellen. Jim was born on April 26, 1927 to the late Timothy and Mary (O'Rourke) Cadigan in Holyoke, Massachusetts. He had one sister, Peggy Cadigan. The Cadigan's lived in Springfield, Massachusetts. At age 17, Jim joined the Navy during WWII. He served the ship Antigone from 1944-1946. On November 4, 1951 he was united in marriage to Nikki Scarpone. They were married 63 years until her death in March of 2014. They had two children, a daughter, Dru, and son, Michael. Jim worked as a printer for the Rocky Mountain News from 1952 until retiring in 1986. Jim and Nikki lived in Massachussets, New York, Colorado, Arizona and finally Lake McConaughy in Nebraska. The lake was always his favorite place to be. Jim is survived by his daughter, Dru (Frank) Bettale, of Arvada, CO; a son, Michael Cadigan, of Lewellen; grandchildren; Brad (Tara) Bettale, of Westminster, CO; Audra (Robb) Holland, of Denver, CO; Spencer Cadigan, of Denver, CO; Clint (Kial) Cadigan, of Grand Junction, CO; and great grandchildren, Cole Bettale, and Kadin and Kinzley Cadigan. He was preceded in death by his wife, parents and sister. A Private Family Committal of the cremains will take place at a later date.
