James E. Hart Sr., 69, of Ogallala, died November 7, 2013 in the Ogallala Community Hospital. James "little Jimmy" was born April 5, 1944 to Garold and Lillie (Isle) Hart in Fairfield, Ill. He attended school in Fairfield. He was employed in a hotel there. He held several occupations including driving truck, working for the railroad and in the oil fields. At one time he was an orderly at the hospital and later was a nursing assistant at a nursing home. Jimmy was self employed remodeling and painting houses, washing windows, and mowing lawns. He owned and operated the Lazy K Motel in Ogallala until he retired in 2007. On November 16, 1998, he married Pauline M. Conger in Alliance. Camping in his "teepee" motor home and fishing at Lake Ogallala were among his favorite things. Jimmy was a member of the Moose Lodge of Ogallala and volunteered along with Pauline cooking at the Lodge. His hobbies included collecting owl figurines. Survivors include his wife Pauline Hart of Ogallala; his children: James "Eddie" Hart, Jr. and his wife Deborah of Big Lake, Minn., Jessica Hart and her fiance Matt Noteboom of Ogallala; his step-children: Carol Serres, Charlotte Johnson, Ron Serres, Connie McLeod, and Brian Barnhill and his siblings: Thomas "Sonny" Hart and Bob Hart, both of Johnston City, Ill., Joyce Painter of Farima, Ill., Linda Eaton of West Palm Beach, Fla., Janice Clapp of Missouri, and David Hart of Fairfield, Ill. Also six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. The family chose cremation. To honor Jimmy's wishes there will be no funeral, however, you are invited to join the family for a celebration of his life on Sunday, Nov. 10, at 4 p.m. at Red's Cafe located in the Ogallala Bowling Alley.
