Grace Ford, 95, of Ogallala and formerly of Big Springs, died Wednesday, July 30, 2014, at Indian Hills Healthcare Community. Grace was born October 24, 1918 in Big Springs, the daughter of Earl and Sarah (Rowan) Hoover. She attended Big Springs High School. She was united in marriage to Clyde Ford on July 8, 1934 in Hot Springs, SD. The couple made their home at Big Springs. Grace was a member of Zion Lutheran Church. She enjoyed playing cards with her friends, sewing, and fishing with Clyde and their sons. Preceding her in death was her husband in 2008, son Rodney in 2005, one brother Rowan Hoover, and four sisters: Florence Hoover, Edith Rhiner, Gladys Hemmer, and Bess Householder and grandson Rocky Ford . Survivors include her son Milton "Mick" Ford and his wife Sue of Ogallala, daughter-in-law Darlene Ford of Big Springs, five grandchildren: Siri (Ken) Reed, Heather Ford, Tammie Ford, Todd Ford, and Mickey Ford and several great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. Cremation was chosen. Graveside Memorial Services will be Monday, August 4, at 10 a.m. in the Big Springs Cemetery. Rev. Trenton Christensen of Zion Lutheran Church will officiate. A memorial has been established in her memory.
