Gladys Judd, 91, of Oshkosh & Lewellen, and formerly of Ogallala, died Sunday, July 14, 2013, in Garden County Health Services in Oshkosh. Gladys was born August 14, 1921 in Rapid City, So. Dak., the daughter of William and Eva (Soloman) Dockendorf. She attended schools in Rapid City and Rockerville. On September 1, 1937 Gladys was united in marriage to Glenn Judd. The couple resided in several So. Dakota towns including Sturgis, Rapid City, Mobridge, Hereford and Tuthill. Other residencies included Casper and Lusk, Wyo. and Grand Island, and later in Ogallala and Oshkosh. Gladys retired and moved to western Nebraska in 2003. In 1968 she received her Licensed Practical Nurse certificate from the School of Nursing in Laramie, Wyo. Gladys was employed at Hot Springs Memorial Hospital and the Wedgewood Nursing Home in Thermopolis, Wyo.. In Grand Island she was employed at St. Francis Hospital, Home Health & Hospice, and Adult Day Care. Gladys continued her education in nursing and kept her license current by attending annual classes until the age of 88. Gladys was always active in her church, teaching Sunday School and youth groups and helping with fundraisers. She was a member of the Church of God of Prophecy. Her hobbies included sewing, doing crafts, gardening and yard work. She especially liked playing Scrabble. Preceding her in death was her husband, twin baby boys Lonnie Ray and Ronnie Fay, and her brother Everett. Survivors include her son Gordon Judd and his wife Charlotte of Sahuarita, Ariz., and two daughters: Ginger and her husband James Schultz of Lewellen and Glenda Whitaker of Aurora, Colo. Also 15 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren, and 16 great-great-grandchildren and several nieces, nephews, and many friends. Visitation will be Tuesday, July 16, from 1 to 6 p.m. in Draucker Funeral Home, with family greeting friends from 5 to 6 p.m. The Funeral Service will be Wednesday, July 17, at 9 a.m.Mntn. Time in Draucker Funeral Home. Pastor Duane Dunwoody will officiate. Interment is in the Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery in Grand Island on Wednesday, July 17, at 3:30 p.m., Central Time. A memorial has been established in her memory.
