Gayle Hinrichs Obituary Gayle Ann Hinrichs, age 58, of Colorado Springs, Colorado, passed away, Thursday, March 18, 2021 at UC Health in Colorado Springs. Gayle was born in Ogallala, Nebraska in May 15, 1962 to Harold and LeeAnn (Dalton) Hinrichs. Gayle attended school in Brule and graduated from Brule High School with the class of 1980. She went on to earn a Bachelor's Degree in Education from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in 1985, which was followed by a Master's Degree in Special Education from Adam's State College in 1988. She also received an Administrative Certificate from Denver University in 1990. She worked as a teacher at Washington Primary Elementary in Rocky Ford Colorado from 1985-1987. She worked as a teacher at Syracuse Elementary School in Syracuse, Kansas from 1987-1992. Gayle worked as a Dean, Teacher, Counselor and Coach at Sierra High School in Colorado Springs from 1992-2011. She worked as a teacher at Fox Meadow Middle School in Colorado Springs from 2011-2012. From 2012-2018 Gayle worked as an Assistant Principal at Canon City High School. In 2018, she was the Principal at Community Prep School in Colorado Springs until 2020 when she retired. Gayle enjoyed traveling and communicating on FaceBook. Gayle is survived by; her mother, LeeAnn Hinrichs, of Brule; brothers; Cecil Hinrichs, of Ogallala; Albert (Wendy) Hinrichs, of Centennial, CO; sister; Susan (Robert) Mercer, of Fort Collins, CO; sister-in-law; Lynda Hinrichs, of Gothenburg, NE; nieces; Mandy (David) Kwiatek, of Parker, CO; Melissa (Mark) Holmes, of Fort Collins, CO; nephews; Jason (Mary Nass) Hinrichs, of Colorado Springs; Christopher (Tonya) Hinrichs, of North Platte, NE; Jarret (Shanna) Hinrichs, of Rowlett, TX; Michael (Sara) Mercer, of Virginia. She was preceded in death by her father, Harold; and one brother, Gary Hinrichs. A visitation will be held, Saturday, March 27, 2021 from 2:00 p.m.-5:00 p.m. and Sunday, March 28, 2021 from 1:00 p.m.-4:00 p.m. in the Draucker Funeral Home Chapel in Ogallala. A Graveside Service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Monday, March 29, 2021 at the Brule Cemetery in Brule, NE, with Rev. Jon Dickmander of the St. John's Lutheran Church of Brule officiating.
